Spinnaker School of English has a caring family approach, where all students are taught and cared for as individuals. Our dedicated and friendly staff will provide and create the right environment for you to learn and live in. Our teachers will focus on your language needs and deliver lessons to suit your learning preferences.
We have some different English language course options for you, whether it’s General English or focusing on language skills such as reading, writing, listening or speaking. We also offer exam preparation courses e.g. IELTS, Cambridge, and Trinity. If you prefer, you can have one-to-one tuition so you can focus on a very specific area of language, such as pronunciation or writing skills, etc.
We believe in providing a service that goes outside of the classroom. Your welfare and general well-being are very important to us. To achieve this, we will provide you with accommodation, (if requested); airport transfers (when requested); a free tutorial system where you can meet with your teacher or a member of the academic team to discuss your progress, as well as any other welfare needs you may have.
In addition to this, we also offer varied student-led social programmes such as sports and visits to local sites of interest and day trips e.g. Brighton, Bath, etc...
Dynamické a pulzující nábřežní město Portsmouth leží na jižním pobřeží Anglie 103 km jihozápadně od Londýna. Významným námořním přístavem po mnoho staletí a domovem Nelsonova vítězství HMS, jeho nábřeží dominuje 170 metrů vysoká Emirates Spinnaker Tower. Město se může pochlubit jedinečnými obchody, skvělými místy k jídlu a bohatou kulturou s velkolepými divadly, živou hudbou, uměleckými galeriemi, muzei a dvěma katedrály.
Škola se nachází ve třetím patře (s výtahem) historického Guildhallu, vynikajícího viktoriánského neoklasicistního stylu dokončeného v roce 1890. Nachází se v samém srdci města, jen pár minut chůze od Portsmouthu a Southsea železniční stanice.
Stejně jako několik učeben existuje i tichý pokoj pro studium nebo rozjímání. K dispozici je také vyhrazená počítačová místnost a bezplatné Wi-Fi. Studenti mají také přístup do knihovny studijních textů anglického jazyka, které si lze vypůjčit.
Mnoho okolních jídelen, kaváren a obchodů nabízí cenově dostupné jídlo a pití na občerstvení a oběd. Guildhall má také svou vlastní kavárnu otevřenou pro studenty i veřejnost.
Studenti jsou vyzváni, aby se zapojili do řady volných aktivit, které mají příležitost zažít britskou kulturu a prozkoumat Portsmouth. Patří mezi ně například orientační procházka v první den, společenské večery v tradičních britských hospodách, stravování v místních restauracích, poslech živé hudby, bowling, kulečník, kuželky a nakupování. Každou sobotu se konají také další kulturní výlety, které jsou zpoplatněny.
Při výuce jazyků používáme komunikativní přístup. Naši učitelé kontextují své hodiny, které jsou přizpůsobeny úrovni studentů v jejich třídách a dodávány podle jejich preferovaného stylu učení, zájmů a motivací.

Portsmouth is known as ‘the waterfront city’, because it has many miles of coastline and beaches. However, it is also technically an island.
Portsmouth is a fun place to visit with lots of activities and places to go. If you like history, there are the museums of Britain’s naval history, but it is also home to the modern Royal Navy with a large port to the west.
There is also the coastal resort of Southsea at the foot of the city. It is a great place to spend time in the summer with people sunbathing and swimming in the sea. There are many tennis courts nearby and other sporting facilities such as a beach volleyball court on the seafront.
Portsmouth is the home of the world famous hovercraft which can whizz you across the sea to the Isle of Wight in less than 15 minutes. If you like shopping, Gunwharf Quays is ideal with lots of shops to explore. It is also the location of the Spinnaker Tower, so you can see the whole of the city and beyond at the top of the iconic building.

Chichester campus is 10 minutes walk from the town centre with its shops, cafes and restaurants.
Once a Roman settlement, Chichester is famous for its Cathedral, Festival Theatre, Roman city walls and much more. Students really enjoy spending their afternoons in the centre, shopping and sipping their coffees at Starbucks!
Chichester is also very close to Brighton and Portsmouth: full-day or half-day excursions to both destinations are often included in the package.
Brockhurst & Marlston House Schools is a private preparatory school and as such hosts, English children aged 4 to 14. During half terms and summer break its beautiful facilities are used by BLA for its language courses.
The closest town to the school is Newbury, a historic market town and the principal town in the west of Berkshire, famous for its rare medieval Cloth Hall and an adjoining half timbered granary as well as its many listed buildings.
Students are regularly taken into Newbury with the school bus to do their shopping and explore the town centre.
Oxford and Windsor are both easily reachable from Brockhurst and are typical weekend destinations for full-day excursions.
Chichester University campus is set in beautiful surroundings, with plenty of green space to relax.
Founded by William Otter, Bishop of Chichester, in 1839 the campus offers a combination of attractive, historic buildings together with excellent, modern facilities.
In Summer 2012, a major refurbishment of the building was completed to further enhance resources and introduce a café, complete with ample social study areas. This award-winning, modern facility has an extensive and regularly refreshed library, complete with a large range of books, papers and journals.
On campus, there is a large refectory (a buzzing meeting point at mealtimes), and a smaller café for students and staff called Holts.
The campus is equipped with very spacious classrooms and auditoriums, outdoor spaces, two indoor gyms, rock climbing wall, football pitches, tennis courts, and many communal areas where students can gather after lessons.
Bedrooms are all modern and well equipped. They are single study rooms with a wash hand basin, wardrobe and desk in the room. Bathroom facilities are shared between six people, with a ratio of 1:3.
Bathrooms and communal spaces are cleaned daily, bed linens and towels are changed weekly. Laundry service is available on campus. There is free Wi-fi all around the Uni.
The closest airport is Gatwick. A shuttle service is available upon request.

Kurzy angličtiny pro juniory jsou ideální pro děti od 4 do 12 let a pro teenagery od 13 do 18, kteří chtějí studovat anglicky během léta. 4 - 8 týdenní kurzy k dispozici o prázdninách (od júna do augusta).
Přípravné kurzy na zkoušky z angličtiny jsou určeny studentům, kteří se chtějí připravit na zkoušky znalosti angličtiny, aby tak zlepšili své možnosti uplatnění na trhu práce nebo byli přijati ke studiu na univerzitě.
