Don Quijote: Barcelona

I'm the organizer, and first of all, I'd like to give a big shout-out to Joana and, before that, to Andrea.

The quality of Language International is truly excellent, and I'm very satisfied.

However, I'm not satisfied with the Don Quijote school:

1. It's bad that the organization is handled through Madrid, and the local school has absolutely nothing to do with the booking.

As a result, the school was very uninterested in the students, who, at other schools, were used to being treated as a group, greeted and seen off by the administration.

2. Content: I had listed the topics to be covered in B2 three months in advance, and again ten days prior upon request! The B2 teacher, David, apparently didn't take note of this, or Madrid didn't pass it on.

In the first lesson, the situation was: "What do you want to talk about?" - HE should have been prepared! The students then suggested topics - and he rejected them all.


``` There are several teachers in my group, and they all think David is a complete failure in terms of methodology and teaching skills.

3. Lead time: Six months in advance, during the booking process, we were promised the Don Quijote residence – yes, it was booked – I even asked Andrea about it several times – and then about three or four months later, Paola in Madrid told me it was fully booked.

The alternative was impossible.

Only after we all canceled did Madrid reconsider and offer another residence: but this one was also a 40-minute metro ride away.

The group is only there for one week, and considering it's only a week, it's simply unreasonable to spend two 40-minute commutes on the metro each day.

Overall: Madrid, as the central office, didn't care at all, and Paola couldn't have cared less.

One positive point: Group B1 had Victor, and the group loved him.

Book it, but never go to a Don Quijote school again.

I am currently planning two new trips and will try not to go to such large organizations as Don Quijote.

I cannot believe how much Spanish I learned in just one week. the teachers there are excellent. They know how to push me to produce better conversations. It was a small class which made it very personal and I received a lot of one on one instruction.

From accommodation, facilities, staff and teachers, everything worked very well, with a high level of quality. I was very pleased to have chosen Don Quijote and received its hospitality.

As an absolute beginner, I have learned a lot in one week and I wish I didn't have any commitments back home at that time so I can extend my classes. The teachers were so amazing and nice. I learned a lot of things in one week because of their experience and the way they give you the information. Definitely, I will come back next year and I'll stay longer but until that time I will continue learning Spanish so I can take the advance classes.
The only thing I didn't like was they didn't inform me that the first class begins at 8, so I missed it.

The classes were very interesting, the teachers were very helpful and sympathetic.

Unfortunately, the school and the housing were quite far from the center of Barcelona.

I was very disappointed by the housing: The heat was intense (more than 35°) and the room was very small without air conditioning. Even worse, there was no window and there were many mosquitoes! Many nights, I did not sleep!

It is absolutely essential to provide air conditioning.

I am really happy with the outcome of this trip, not only because I have improved a lot in my Spanish language, but also because I have met lots of different people from all over the world. I enjoyed all of the activities we had in the afternoon, especially when we went to the beach since the sea was beautiful, as well as all of the night activities. The classes were very instructive and I learnt a lot without getting bored. The only thing I did not like was the fact that we could not have the keys to our rooms.
