The class was so good, the teacher were nice, kind, patient and always they were with a good attitude to help you.
The location was good too, and it was easy to get to. The activities in the class were always interactive and different.
I learned more things than I expected and and I am very satisfied and grateful with that. The only thing I didn't like very much was that we use many sheets of paper every day and I think that at the time can represent a little more pollution so I recommend to search different ways to do the activities to avoid contamination.

The organisation was well functioning, in fact the 15 minutes break in the middle of the lesson was always respected quite precisely. The classes were spacious and displayed in a circular way so that everyone could have an open view on the whiteboard and directly interact with the teacher. The location is very comfortable to reach, since is close to Gare Cornavin and it is also next to the tram 15 stop (Butini). The program offered plenty different activities that offered a full overview of the B1 program and aimed all the aspects of the learning process of a language: learning, comprehension, writing, grammatical part…

I had a very welcoming experience when I first went to ASC, from the receptionist who put me at ease to the consultant which listened to my needs. I was placed with Jean-Julien for my french private classes and its been a really refrenshing experience learning French with him. His teaching methods have enabled me to improve my french tremendously and be more comfortable using the language. He really finds ways to make the class relevant to my work and spark my love for the language.

Die Lehrer*innen waren sehr nett, jedoch wurde ich falsch eingestuft. All den Stoff, denn wir angeschaut hatten, konnte ich bereits seit einigen Jahren. Dementsprechend war der Unterricht für mich nicht wirklich hilfreich. Jedoch denke ich, für die, die richtig eingestuft wurden, war der Kurs sicherlich hilfreich, wobei ich persönlich fand, dass die Reihenfolge des Stoffes nicht sehr gut gewählt war.

I had 3 different teachers of which i found Estelle to be the best. Yet all 3 taught great and were really nice women. Location was good as well, could be better though. The terrace on the 6th floor has a great view and was enjoyable.

What I didn't like as much was the fact that the students were all in different age groups than myself.

I had a great time at ASC Languages. First of all, thank you so much Laura and Dominique, for being so passionate and enthusiastic about teaching. I'm glad I had you as my teachers and I feel like my French skills have improved a lot. During class, you don't only learn the grammar but you also learn to communicate. That was very useful! I liked that the class was small, because in that way you had to speak a lot. This was difficult at first but also a very good exercises. Also, the location is good and easy to reach. After class, it was great to explore Geneva.

The location of the school is great, the activities that we made really improve my Italian and the teacher was excellent.

I didn’t really get the know the school or any other person there but my teacher. She was the first person that a saw there I didn’t need to meet anyone else.

Amazing and very professional, the teachers were kind and helpful. I booked one week general English classes, but when I said I work as a lawyer in Spain, they let me stay in a specific English law class for one day. The school is also in a good place and the facilities are excellent too.

I attend a two weeks course at ASC Languages building in Geneva. I'm sixteen years old and I'm from Italy. I found the course very interesting despite I was in class with adults only. My classmates were very amusing and the teachers were really good because they were dynamic and were enjoying what they were doing. Even the employees were really kind.

The teacher were really kind and helpful. I learned the language and I enjoyed to go to school.

I had told the school that the main reason for me to take the course was to get training in speaking French. I really appreciated the Work shop one day, which was mainly speaking French in a small group with an enthusiastic teacher. But the rest of the time four days, was too much of grammar on limited subjects. Probably because the group was good in speaking French and had more need for the grammar. It also seemed kind of frustrating to use two days of my time to learn one specific, limited part of grammar.

My housing on the other hand was good, because there I had opportunities to have small talks. The family, too, was good, because they were a couple in my age. Location of the school was central, facilities ok, but would have been nice to have some more space for example having lunch after the lessons, if you wanted to continue with the work in the afternoon. I did not find any social activities to take part of during my week, so I cannot give any opinion about the subject.

Carmela was an amazing teacher, I was so lucky to have had her as my Italian teacher.

Everything went perfectly well. It has a professional and very efficient office, Aurélie is super responsive and finds a solution for everything. The teachers, especially Pierre and Karen, are awesome and give their best.
The location of the school is good as well. It's about 10 minutes from the main station by foot.

The classes were fun, informative , and fast-paced. The teachers used almost no English which was wonderful; it forced me to listen very closely to French, and do my best to generate it. I had three different teachers...Valerie, Alexandra, and Frédéric...and every single one of them was well-prepared, friendly, thorough, and patient. I send each of them a big hug!
The building was in a perfect location for me since I didn’t really know Geneva at all in the beginning. My husband and I biked in each morning from Ornex, France. I left him to go to work at the UN, and then I just continued on about 7 or 8 minutes to reach my class. The only thing that I really did not like was that there was no WiFi in the building !

I chose to take a one week intensive French course with ASC Languages as I was vacationing in Geneva for a week and wanted to improve my French. I was worried that the class would be too hard or too easy for me as I have some French language experience, but not a lot. However, I felt as though the teachers and staff (especially Aurelie) did a great job listening to my feedback and making things match the level that I was at so that I was appropriately challenged. The teachers I had were awesome: they were both very energetic, patient, and planned interactive activities that forced us to keep practicing our language skills in different ways so that we would actually learn the material. I've taken other language courses before where the teachers used a book and made us do the exercises in the book in class, which wasn't that helpful and was a waste of time as I could do that at home.

In summary, I would highly recommend ASC and would go back for another week long course in the future! Thanks to my teachers and the staff for a wonderful experience where I truly feel as though I learned a lot :)

Overall I found my stay at International house very beneficial. All the teachers were amazing and I feel like my French skills improved dramatically. However I do have a few things that I would like to bring up.

Firstly, I have done a few language courses now and I felt like this programme was extremely expensive in comparison to the others. Yes, it was very beneficial but the cost seemed (to me) excessive. We are told that we have 3 hours of class (from 9-12) yet we have a break in between so really its more like 2.45 hours or so. Thats not a big deal, but combined with how expensive it is, I personally felt that wasnt the best method. I did a language programme in Berlin which was also 3 hours but they ran the class from 9am until 1pm and had two breaks in between. I felt it was run a lot better. That particular school also ran weekend trips away around the German countryside or to other German cities. I thought this was a great idea as you could get experience with hearing different accents and seeing more than one area. Of course, this all costs money but this course was much more expensive so I could think its possible.

Some other general improvements, Some form of kitchen, i.e. maybe even just a few microwaves would have been nice. Also there was no wifi at the school. Both small things but I felt that they could really make a difference.

There were also not many students, which, although this isnt the schools fault it made me think that perhaps they could do more to try and attract students, like social activities or excursions.

I found the accommodation excellent, however I feel that I may have been very lucky with my family as they took amazing care of me and even took me on a day trip to a small French village (something that the school could have also done). For most people, moving to a new city is very hard and although the school was very good, it did very little to help with the stress of moving and meeting new people.

It is not suitable for studying English only. The majority of my classes were Swiss, so there were not many international students. However, it was a very good school to enjoy Geneva. The Swiss people were very kind and took me around Geneva. Also, my host family was very friendly and I could spend six weeks without feeling stress. However, it was disappointing that the number of students increased from the way and the quality fell down compared to the classes when I was in a small group. Finally, if you are interested in Switzerland and want to learn a little English, it is a wonderful school.

In general terms, my experience was good and profitable. The location of the school is perfect, in the city centre, near to several train stations. I think it would be good to say in the school's website the nearest tram number to the school, referring that the nearest station is "Butini", catching the tram nr 15 (just for other people like me know that, in their first day, because for me it was a hard work to find the perfect access conditions initially.)

In my opinion, the school space is a little bit old and dark (the classrooms and so on).

I liked my teachers very much but I didn't know that they would be two different teachers during the week. When I had gotten used to one of them, comes another teacher completely different and I didn't know that it would it be that way. I think it would be better to be just one teacher, always the same, or even one teacher per week, but not changing in the middle of the week.

The activities were good, I liked the classes and the conversation activities between the students. We talked a lot about our lives and our life's experiences, putting in practice the language.

But in classes of 3 hours, sometimes I had to stay with the same pair all the time, no changing pairs and I didn't like that monotony. Also, I think in the work in pairs, teachers should be supervising, because if both of the students are "bad" in language terms, they will not do anything productive during a long time of the exercise, sometimes not helping each other, or prejudicing with wrong information that they think it's right..

The worst part in the school was absolutely having no wi-fi. We are in the 21st century and everyone has smartphones and need the use of wi-fi, especially in a school nowadays.

Once I'm a foreigner, (travelling alone in the city) I didn't have mobile data availabe in my cellphone (because of the roaming), and sometimes I needed to consult an online dictionary or the translator, or also wanted to call my family in the break, and I couldn't because there's no wifi, and the prices of the roaming are really high per minute. I guess that was the most serious failure in the school.

About the facility was in a wonderful place: only mountains, the owner of the hostel a lovely lady and full of life.
I had a great communication because the owner of the hostel a Portuguese lady, but everyone there speaks in French and also in English was not difficult in the communication.
I only really felt sorry for not being able to attend classes because the location is a bit far.

The class was a really good size allowing all participants to take space.
The material and professors were organised and the course evolved at a good pace. Additionally the professors took the participants levels into consideration during the lessons.

The building and facilities were good however providing wifi enabling participants to use internet tools during lessons would be a good way to improve. There are a lot of good technical tools out there, why not include them in the education?

Last but not least, as the course progressed, participants improved at different paces. I believe this is something to think about, perhaps adding a re-valuation of a class each month, re-ordering the participant groups after.

So I struggled to find a hotel reservation , but it was nice from you and the school to listen to me and compensate / refund the payment
On the other hand the city of Geneva has a nice weather and lake but no activities held on town which limits my options to select this city again

The teacher is very passionate to teach me, so I could follow him for 2 weeks.

I had lessons every day in the afternoon, and I studied alone in the self-study room with the personal computor and texts equipped there. The BBC leaning material is very helpful for pronunciation, as I could listen repeatedly a number of times.

The school is nicely locatied, 5 minutes from the hotel, and easy to go to the central station and the center of the city.

It was very hot beggining of August. If the air-conditionners were equipped to the class room!

The class had a pleasant size and it could be worked intensively. The teachers were very well prepared, competent and extremely supportive. In addition, all teachers were always informed about the class's current level of learning, even about the content that a colleague or colleague had taught. Coordination is very important at this school and the contact with the learners was very personal and appreciative. An excellent place to learn. Thanks to all of you!

A wonderful experience. Warm, welcoming and helpful staff. The location is great. Excellent standard of teaching - my French improved dramatically. It would have been great to have free WiFi though.

It was helpful for my oral practice in French. I also repeated a few grammar skills. This was very helpful. As I was there for only a week it was probably to short to learn more different grammar rules.

I studied at IH Geneva for three weeks and really enjoyed it. The location was good and my classmates were friendly but the experience was really made enjoyable by the teachers, who were fun and engaging. The school also offered a good multimedia option to pursue outside class and was very obliging with requests and queries.

The housing was great, the Swiss woman was really nice. The two teachers were very good and the classes were complete.

This school is really an eye-opener. Not only you can improve your English level, but you also make a wide range of acquaintance with people from all over the world.

I followed a 1:1 class which was very good. My teacher quickly identified my weaknesses in my French, and constructed topics of interest to allow me to practice french in a natural environment. I found the staff as friendly and professional. The premises are central, and easy to get to. Overall, it was a worthwhile experience.

Die grammatikalischen Übungen bei Lindita waren hervorragend. Ausführliche Erläuterung und entsprechende Übungsaufgaben haben ein super Verständnis und super Anwendungstraining ermöglicht.
Auch das Vokabeltraining war sehr gut. Aktuelle Themen und intensives Besprechen sorgen für einfaches Behalten und durch das spielerische Lernen verliert man nie den Spaß. Auch die Aktualität der Themen und die unterschiedlichen Gebiete sorgen für ein breites Wortspektrum.

Die Stunden bei Aurelié waren nicht schlecht. Auch hier wurde durch unterschiedlichste Themen ein großer Wortschatz abgegriffen. Allerdings hat es meinen persönlichen Lernlevel überschritten und ich hatte oft Schwierigkeiten zu folgen.
Die grammatikalische Vermittlung war relativ oberflächlich. Der Schwerpunkt lag hier offensichtlich auf Textverständnis.
Ein Vokabeltraining gab es leider nicht. Es wurde sehr viel vorausgesetzt.

Die Gruppengröße war mit 16 definitv zu groß. Eine Gruppengröße von > 8 ist nicht mehr zielführend.
Der eingene Redeanteil ist zu gering und die Wiederholungen bei der Überprüfungen von Lernaufgaben langweilt.

Der Computerraum war sehr gut ausgestattet und die unterschiedlichen Übungen sehr detailiert und gut organisiert.
Auch die Unterstütung von Pauline war großartig.

Im großen und Ganzen fehlt den Räumen etwas Modernität. Die Klassenräume sind sehr schlicht und dunkel durch den dunklen und fleckigen Teppichboden.

I liked everything, as a matter of fact. First, I was impressed by a high-level of professionalism showed by professors who conducted my classes. Besides that, they were patient enough to repeat various details of curricular material already passed, thus filling up certain lagoons in what was explained but not perfectly understood earlier. The staff was also quite friendly, as well as my classmates. They were always ready to give a helping hand in certain areas related to video classes, textbooks and what to see in Switzerland. I had a very good experience learning French at the International House of Geneva, and I liked it very much as I gained a lot. And my bag of French knowledge grew considerably because I had to communicate in French the first half of the day for two weeks. That helped me get rid of a fear of talking French with native speakers and I began speaking much faster. In addition, I learned a lot of new grammar rules and a number of tricky things that turned up in French, as well as about Switzerland and its people. The classmates, the majority of them, representing different countries took a three-month course and I wished I could have done the same. If I had been in their place I would have mastered the language, I believe. With my initial knowledge, I think I could have asserted that I knew French perfectly well to read, write and talk, in particular, in a correct way if I had taken a three-month course. May such an opportunity occur one day, who knows? I cannot say anything about social activities there because I could not observe anything of that kind, possibly because of my short stay. Neither did I use the housing provided by the International House, as I had arranged it by myself. This time I was focused precisely on learning French and my classes, and in that respect everything was okay.

Firstly the course has been very productive. The classes have been very useful. In my opinion the teachers are qualified for this kind of course. It is good for me that they are native speakers because they can teach us better than a teacher with another mother language. However, I'd like to complain because nobody told me that I could use the computer in the special classroom. I first knew about it on the last day so I couldn't practice the activities you offer to the students.

The classes and teachers were great. The location was fantastic - very central and easily accessible by public transport. The facilities were really good with a computer lab and television room. I could check the internet in the computer lab. The office staff were friendly and helpful.

There was some delay with my initial placement, as when I arrived on the first morning, they didn't know which class to put me in and suggested I take an afternoon class which I hadn't scheduled for. I eventually decided to choose the morning class because I had already pre-organised my schedule and didn't want to disrupt my plans. However, this meant that perhaps I wasn't in the best class for my level. I thought this should have been sorted out before I arrived.

Due to this placement issue, there was a lack of communication with the teachers who didn't know about my arrival in their class and therefore didn't have enough photocopies for me.

Once I got started though, everything went well and I really enjoyed the experience. I really liked the classes being totally in French.

I was impressed by the teachers, they're amazing! I had a perfect opportunity to observe 5 classes with 5 different teachers, and all of them were simply great. I liked their focus on speaking, I think that for many students it's an issue -- to overcome their anxiety and start speaking -- but with the teachers like International House has, it's not going to be a problem at all. The students are mostly Swiss immigrants, so one can listen to different European accents, and it could be pretty beneficial. The location and facilities are good; the school is located close to the downtown. And the staff are extremely friendly, they take care of each student.

The school was very good. The location was very comfortable. The teachers all have the Delta qualification and that's why the lessons were very productive, useful and fun. It really motivates students to keep studying. The activities in the class were very different and well-thought out, so students had a lot of fun while studying.

I thought that the school itself was well organised and the staff were all very accommodating. I particularly liked the multimedia centre part of the course as it was personal learning time to make sure that what we had learnt in class was clear through numerous exercises each week. The location of the school was very central and convenient. Both of the teachers in my class were very generous and would allow all the students to make sure that they understood what they were teaching before moving on to something new.
I did find that there was a bit of difference between the students. In particular there was one student who was quite far behind the rest of the class, which at times could be a little frustrating; however, the class were all supportive towards him.
The tables in the classroom were not very good as they are more like lecture theatre chairs with the small note table attached. When you are trying to write down notes and do exercises, the tables were wobbly and not large enough to be able to have notes open and do exercises.
I thought that the conversational focus of the class was very good and I feel that I benefited from the classes.

It's a nice school in a good location, a few bus stops far from the central station. Teaching methods are good and fun, and I really enjoyed my permanence in Geneva.
School facilities are clean and organized, and everyone is kind.
The only thing I think this school is missing is some extra activities (like tours of the city in French visits to museums, etc.), which the school could successfully organize and would be fun.
